Therapy for Healthcare Professionals
Helping healthcare professionals invest in themselves to better their life, work, and relationships.
You’ve worked hard to care for your patients, but the job has demanded a high cost to your well-being and relationships.
You’ve been going non-stop. The job feels insatiable and demands more and more of you even though you’re running on empty. You feel like you can’t slow down because people get hurt if you lose focus, so you put your head down and push through the exhaustion. You care about your patients but the stress and frustrations of the job have pushed you to your limits. Something will have to give eventually. You’ve been taking care of others for so long that you may have not noticed the need to be taken care of.
You’re ready to:
Reconnect to your own needs
Realign your life and work to what’s truly important to you
Develop tools and habits that can help you not just survive but thrive
Discover and connect the impact of your work on your life and relationships
Expand your identity and sense of self beyond the job for greater balance
Equip yourself for sustainable success in work, life, and relationships
Meet Brandon
Therapy can help you get back in touch with yourself and cultivate a deeper more sustainable life.
I am a medical family therapist who specializes in guiding you through the stuck places and patterns of your life and relationships.
I bring a safe, practical, and transparent approach to therapy. I’m especially skilled at walking between worlds, and I don’t run away from painful and lonely places.
I love working with people who are open to change and curious about the experiences of others — they’re the ones who I see make the most progress in working with me.
As a helping professional and son of a doctor and nurse, I understand that creating a sustainable life is essential, and I want to help you build that. When you take care of yourself, you maximize your ability to take care of others.
Ready to get started?
-
Submit a request for therapy by clicking here or on any of the "Schedule Consult" buttons on the website. I will contact you within one business day to set up a free 20-minute video call to talk about your goals and my process.
-
Once we decide to move forward, we will schedule the assessment appoint. Our first session will allow me to better understand the goals and challenges. The following two sessions will allow me to get to know your history and family. The last assessment session will focus on understanding the current patterns in your life and relationships and making a final determination if we are a good fit for therapy.
-
We will find a regularly occurring 60-minute appointment slot and start diving into the stuck places and patterns. You will be challenged, but I also promise that we'll laugh together and you may even enjoy yourself as we do the hard but meaningful work of growing your social and emotional health.
How We’ll Work Together
Weekly Therapy
If you prefer to make progress steadily over time, we can meet on a weekly basis for 55- or 85-minute sessions.
Intensive Therapy
For quicker results, a therapy intensive may be a good fit for you. Like a large dose of therapy at once, an intensive helps you find relief faster. 2- and 3-day options available.
Adjunct Therapy
If you’re already working with another therapist - either in individual or couples thearpy - and finding the work there helpful, great! EFT can be a powerful addition to your work by helping to break through a specific barrier or accelerate your healing as you continue working with your therapist. Adjunct therapy can occur via ongoing or intensive therapy and support both couples and individual work.
FAQs About Therapy for Healthcare Professionals
-
Therapy for healthcare professionals can come in many forms but basically consists of a therapist and client meeting one-on-one to work towards a goal through exploration and discussion. For healthcare professionals, it can be helpful to develop proactive and responsive strategies for dealing with stressors that impact their mental health and relationships.
-
The goal of therapy is determined through collaboration between the therapist and the client. Usually, it includes a combination of working towards gaining insight or understanding about oneself and skill building.
-
Healthcare professionals have to juggle a demanding workload, emotional stress, and workplace issues. Long hours and understaffing for sustained periods contribute significantly to a heavy workload and is unsustainable. Caring for patients, dealing with difficult patients, and strained workplace relationships lead to emotional stress. Finally, on top of all that, are growing administrative burdens, a lack of control over schedules, a lack of organizational support. Many of these issues have become significantly worse after COVID-19.
