Meet Brandon
Who you are doesn’t have to be at odds with your family and heritage.
I am a therapist who specializes in guiding you through the stuck places and patterns of your life and relationships.
I bring a safe, practical, and transparent approach to therapy. I’m especially skilled at walking between worlds, and I don’t run away from painful and lonely places.
I love working with people who are open to change and curious about the experiences of others — they’re the ones who I see make the most progress in working with me.
As someone who has navigated the challenges of balancing my cultural heritage with my vision for life and relationships, I know it’s not an easy journey but one that’s worth taking for happiness and confidence.
Ready to get started?
-
Submit a request for therapy by clicking here or on any of the "Schedule Consult" buttons on the website. I will contact you within one business day to set up a free 20-minute video call to talk about your goals and my process.
-
Once we decide to move forward, we will schedule the assessment appoint. Our first session will allow me to better understand the goals and challenges. The following two sessions will allow me to get to know your history and family. The last assessment session will focus on understanding the current patterns in your life and relationships and making a final determination if we are a good fit for therapy.
-
We will find a regularly occurring 60-minute appointment slot and start diving into the stuck places and patterns. You will be challenged, but I also promise that we'll laugh together and you may even enjoy yourself as we do the hard but meaningful work of growing your social and emotional health.
How We’ll Work Together
Weekly Therapy
If you prefer to make progress steadily over time, we can meet on a weekly basis for 55- or 85-minute sessions.
Intensive Therapy
For quicker results, a therapy intensive may be a good fit for you. Like a large dose of therapy at once, an intensive helps you find relief faster. 2- and 3-day options available.
Adjunct Therapy
If you’re already working with another therapist - either in individual or couples thearpy - and finding the work there helpful, great! EFT can be a powerful addition to your work by helping to break through a specific barrier or accelerate your healing as you continue working with your therapist. Adjunct therapy can occur via ongoing or intensive therapy and support both couples and individual work.
FAQs About Therapy for Men
-
Culturally sensitive therapy is particularly beneficial for men as it allows them to explore and address mental health challenges within the context of their cultural identities and societal expectations. Traditional gender norms often discourage men from seeking help for emotional or psychological issues, leading to higher rates of underreporting and untreated mental health concerns. Culturally sensitive therapy offers a safe space for men to break free from these norms, enabling them to express vulnerability without feeling emasculated or judged.

Therapy is worth it for men because it provides a safe and confidential space for them to address their mental health challenges, emotional struggles, and life stressors. Therapy therapy can help men explore and understand the impact of traditional gender roles on their mental well-being. It allows them to challenge harmful stereotypes that may prevent them from seeking support or expressing their emotions openly. Therapy equips men with coping mechanisms and communication skills necessary for maintaining healthy relationships

Having a male therapist can provide numerous benefits for men seeking therapy. Some of the advantages include:
1. Understanding of Male Experience: A male therapist may have firsthand experience with the unique challenges and societal pressures that men face, allowing them to better understand and empathize with their clients' experiences.
2. Relatability: Men may feel more comfortable discussing sensitive topics such as masculinity, relationships, and emotional struggles with a male therapist who can relate to their experiences as a man.
3. Breaking Down Stereotypes: Men often face stereotypes around expressing emotions and vulnerability. A male therapist can serve as a positive role model by challenging these stereotypes and demonstrating that it is acceptable for men to seek support and express their feelings openly.
4. Building Trust: Some men may feel more at ease discussing personal issues with someone they perceive as similar to them in terms of gender identity, which can help build trust and rapport in the therapeutic relationship.
5. Addressing Masculinity Issues: Men may struggle with societal expectations related to masculinity, such as being strong and stoic. A male therapist can help address these issues in a way that acknowledges their impact on mental health while also offering support in navigating these pressures.

Therapy can be hard for men for various reasons, including societal expectations around masculinity and emotional expression. Some of the common challenges that men may face in seeking therapy include:
1. Societal Pressure: Men are often socialized to suppress emotions and appear strong and stoic. Seeking help through therapy may be perceived as a sign of weakness, leading to feelings of shame or reluctance to seek support.
2. Stigma Around Mental Health: There is still a stigma surrounding mental health issues, which can make it difficult for men to acknowledge their struggles and seek professional help.
3. Fear of Judgement: Men may worry about being judged by others, including the therapist, for expressing vulnerability or sharing personal struggles.
4. Lack of Role Models: There may be a lack of male role models who openly discuss their experiences with therapy and mental health, making it harder for some men to feel comfortable seeking help.
5. Communication Barriers: Some men might struggle with verbalizing their emotions or feel unsure about how to navigate conversations about deeply personal topics.
